• Burl, Black Locust, Round, 2.5in

This round piece of black locust was sliced from a burl.  Two-thirds of the outside edges are smooth and the remainder are the burls rough outer nodules.  At 2.5 inches around it’s a sizable base for an army unit (64mm round by 16mm).  It would look awesome under a gnarled troll or some other gruesome retch.

  • Burl, White Pine

This nicely polished burl is made from white pine and was at the join of the trunk and a branch.  The top of this burl is flat from the cut so perfect for a miniature’s placement.  The piece is three inches by two and a half inches by three-quarters of an inch in height (76mm by 64mm by 19mm).

    Miniatures not included.

  • Diorama Base, “The Old Way,” 4in

The Old Way … that road found in post-apocalyptic, fantasy societies that the current society has no clue how they made it.  Once the road way in this piece was created by such builders that it lasted for millennia.  At least until the water changed course and eroded the road bed and shifted the land.  Now there are only small reminders of the once great society in a wondrous slice of creek bed.

Now imagine your beautifully painted dragon curled atop the the piece with his tail trailing around the terrain.  Or a hill giant taking in the scene before moving on with his full waterskin.  Perhaps a knight sits atop his armored steed has followed the Old Way until the path was blocked by this small fjord.

The foundation are two cork rounds atop MDF.  The land is made with more cork added to create the higher points.  Ground red foam foliage surrounds a sculpted tree stump.  A small pool of water sits atop the small hillock jutting into the creek.  Flagstone pavers still remain clustered together for strength showing the shards of the Old Way.  The creek bed is made from actual sand and the flora and moss in the water is more ground foam.  Realistic Water covers the creek bed and pool of water.

The product shown and sold here is the prototype.  Future custom orders of similar work will use a different resin for the water and naturally, the shape and details of the piece will differ.

The base is 4 inches around and 1.5 inches tall at the top of the tree stump. It's 1.125 inches high at the two flat spots in the middle. (101mm x 38mm, 29mm at flat spots).

  • Plinth, Austrian Pine

Austrian Pine is one of the less used Christmas Trees species here in New York but this plinth is made from it.  The bark is almost shiny by itself but the finish added a real nice polish to the variegated colors of the bark.

This base has all the potential for a stunning display piece at 3 inches tall and approximately 2.75 inches around (76mm x 70mm).

Consider combining this monolithic version with two more progressively smaller ones for a trilogy of a character’s career like the old Ral Partha level up characters.

    Miniature not included.

  • Plinth, Cherry

This short plinth measures only one inch in height (26mm) and is approximately 2.8 inches in diameter (72mm).

The reddish tone makes it a dark piece and a notch in the bark may imply a water feature or creeping vines but don’t let us design your piece.  Just let your imagination go.

  • Plinth, Shadbush

Out of Stock :: If you would like to get something similar, please visit our Request Form.

This large, oval shaped plinth stands over an inch in height with silvery/gray bark whose sapwood and heartwood look nearly identical in color, a darkened gold that looks like it’s an antique.  This large stand can easily be used for larger monsters or a group of adventurers as shown in the photos.  Combined with terrain the piece can easily support some trees and other flora to create a great scene for a single miniature large or small.  The whole piece is 4 inches by 3.25 inches in a oval or rounded square shape and one and a quarter inches in height (102mm x 83mm x 32mm).

    Miniatures not included.

  • Round, Beech, 1.5in

These rounds are cut from larger pieces and turned to a round shape the tree rings are almost straight and look almost like long planking from a ship.  Extremely light and durable these pieces make great bases.  Each is 1.5 inches around and a narrow 1/8th inch in height (38mm round by 3mm).  These rounds are opaque.
